Visits

In the latter part of 2007 employers viewed the dramatic Combined Arms Firepower Demonstration on Salisbury Plain displaying the capabilities of infantry, tanks and attack helicopters. They also watched potential Army Officers going through their leadership and team tasks in the rigorous selection process at the Army Officer Selection Board in Westbury, Wilts.

In the early part of 2008 South West employers have attended, a visit to the Royal Naval Air Station at Yeovilton, a Raceday at Chepstow and a Music Sinfonietta in Bristol Cathedral.

These are just a selection of the many opportunities that have been available during the last six months and at the present time we are busy planning the programme from May to October. This will include visits to the Search & Rescue helicopters at RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall, the tanks and armoured vehicles at The Armour Corps in Dorset, the Hercules aircraft of the RAF in Wiltshire and the Royal Navy in Devon.

In addition to these visits ‘behind the wire’ we support the Services by inviting people to community based lunches and dinners providing the opportunity to meet those who control the Armed Forces in the South West.
