Wessex Reserve Forces & Cadets Association covers the seven counties of the South West of England, organised through seven county associations, each presided over by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant.
It is one of 13 similarly constituted associations, overseen by the Council of RFCAs, whose role is to promote and support Reserve Forces units and cadet organisations in their respective regions of the United Kingdom.
The Chief Executive of Wessex RFCA, heads a secretariat that operates from headquarters at Mount House, Taunton, and answers to an Executive committee.
The work of the secretariat is focused on specific functions, namely Representation & Employer Support, Works & Estates, Finance and Supply.
Day-to-day responsibilities can range from co-ordinating PR support for tri-service recruiting campaigns to project managing a seven-figure refurbishment of a TA Centre, from arranging a briefing for local MPs to filling a vacancy for an Army Cadet Force executive officer.
